So. Here we are. Day three(it feels like weeks though). And after all of the little instructional meetings and training and stuff, I have come to this conclusion: Disney is quirky.
I mean seriously! Who knew a plastic lightsaber was a weapon that is not allowed in the apartment things where I live. Apparently you're going to get trashed and battle to the death...with plastic lightsabers. Once the battle is over, or about every 4-6 weeks, Disney has inspections at your house. What does this mean? Well it means that they come through your house, make sure your bed is made(no joke) and that your house is clean. If it's not? You get slapped in the face with a oh so lovely fine. Go figure. And computer lab hours?! Who has a computer lab open between the hours of 9-5, and have a gym that is open from 9-1. Wtf.
Anyway. Today was "Traditions" training. It was really cool, I'd show pictures, but I wasn't allowed to take them. I did get to go under Cinderella's castle today though. So that was fun. I also got my ID to get into the park and name tag. So I'm all kinds of a real "cast member" now.
Going along the lines of this qwirky-ness, I've realized I'm a strange luggage packer. I want it all to fit into one thing, despite how much it weighs. So, due to this, I keep opening little travel containers and finding the most random crap packed in with other stuff(my little Vera Bradley wallet was packed beneath a mass of jewelry. Figure that one out).
Also...if you get attacked by glitter. It's not glitter - it's Pixie Dust. Another interesting tidbit from training today. Also! Found out that there is a talking trashcan that wanders around Tomorrowland or something. That's terrifying. Legitimately terrifying.
Tomorrow is an off day for training, so I think that my other house-mates (apartment-mates?) will head to the park. Speaking of the park, when we drove to it today (at 7:00 in the morning) I got goosebumps when I saw the castle and Epcot on the horizon. So there you go. A quick little update on this loverly Random Fact Wednesday.

Well, my dear, it sounds like Disney is crazy (I mean, a fine for not making your bed? really?). But fun none-the-less! Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Good thing they didn't do that in the Regis/Glasgow dorms. I would have owed thousands of dollars/pounds. Glad its going well so far! Just be sure to watch out for that trashcan.
